The National Basketball Association's New York Knicks are keeping it in the family for their next jersey patch sponsor. Madison Square Garden Sports announced Tuesday that Sphere Entertainment will become the NBA team's official jersey patch partner for the 2023-24 season. Terms of the jersey patch deal were not disclosed. The NBA's jersey patch sponsor program kicked off during the 2017-18 season and has been an important source of revenue for many clubs. Dolan reportedly was shopping around the jersey patch rights for $30 million, according to SBJ.

FIFA allocated the 2030 World Cup to Spain, Portugal and Morocco last week but also said Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay would host three matches to mark the tournament's centenary. Victor Matheson, sports economist at College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts, said the 2030 World Cup proposal was "extremely well done" on FIFA's part. BEER BACK ON TAPThe World Cup in Qatar also had to contend with strict controls on alcohol. Two days before the tournament kicked off, Budweiser, the official beer of the World Cup, had taps at stadiums turned off by Qatari officials. "Like it or not, that's what ends up happening and everyone in the end remembers how great Lionel Messi was and how Argentina won the World Cup," he said.

That's down from 13% of Nike's women's team products which sold out during the same tournament in 2019, the data shows. For that reason, marketers must bear in mind the risk that the growing fanbase could see their support for women's soccer as disingenuous. To recognize the impact grassroots teams have in creating excitement about women's soccer, Adobe's ad also featured London-based community women's soccer clubs Peaches FC and Baesianz FC, said Sabina Strasser, Senior Director, Brand Experience EMEA at Adobe. Sporting goods retailer Fanatics has more than 475 U.S. women's team products for sale this year, up from about 175 in 2019, the company told Reuters. As of Monday, the generic Adidas Women's World Cup soccer ball was among its top sellers in FIFA World Cup Gear.

Sep 21, 2022; Bronx, New York, USA; New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge (99) hits a ground rule double against the Pittsburgh Pirates during the fifth inning at Yankee Stadium. So for the first time in a long while it appears all the stars are, for now, aligning in MLB's favor thanks to Judge and his mighty swing. "There's no real controversy around him, he's a matinee idol, good looking, great personality, liked around the league." Judge will get his next chance to draw level with Maris later on Thursday when New York open a four-game homestand against the Boston Red Sox. "It you remember those ads when McGwire and Sosa were battling it out - 'Chicks dig the long ball', well Major League Baseball executives dig the long ball too," said Dorfman.
